We Are Still Alive....

I know, it has been far too long since we have blogged and since Trevin and I trade off who writes the blogs you can guess whose fault that is. Well I know most of you just thought Trevin but its actually me. Anyways things have been a whirlwind since we started school. Trevin is working on his Spanish Translation major and just started the program this fall. He likes all of his classes, especially physics, that way he can suck up to my dad. Haha, just kidding, but he is doing great and is definitely the rock in our family right now. I am working on the junior core of the accounting program and have been nothing but a boring, emotional, busy student. Trevin is an awesome husband.....and wife when I get too busy to help out. The majority of our fall activities so far have included attending football games, watching football games, listening to football games, playing football games and a few other things. Haha. Actually we've been trying to help my sister get ready for her wedding which is in a few weeks, we've been doing plenty of homework but also spending lots of time with family and friends.

A couple weekends ago my parents came out for a few days. I threw Ashley a bridal shower and so my parents were able to there. It was awesome to spend time with them and help my mom through some wedding craziness. My poor parents, two girl weddings in six-months. Also last weekend was Trevin and my nephew Callin's one year old birthday. Trevin's family came down and we had a little birthday party for him. What a cute little dude. Our children better look like him. So yeah it has been awesome to spend so much time with family even while school is so crazy.

Well its back to the grind but maybe our blogging will be more frequent and probably more entertaining now that its Trevin's turn

300 Dollar Car Accidents, Hannah Montana, 7-11 History and More...

We decided to split up the blogging responsibilities. This week is my week (This is Trevin by the way). My entries seem to be a little less mature and insightful than Allison's....so, ENJOY!!

We have now completed week number 2 of our return to real life. It seems sometimes that we do the same thing over and over everyday, but looking back on the week we experienced quite a few different adventures.

Adventure #1 actually started a couple of weeks ago. As we got in the car to take Allison to work, we noticed that someone had run into our car in the parking lot. It only scratched up the back bumper a little bit. If you've ever been to our apartment you know how little the parking spots are, and you know how many high maintenance rich girls live here...a very scary combo. It was pretty minor, but we decided that since the person (obviously a girl) had left a note with their contact info that we would go get it fixed up. We called the father of the girl, and decided that instead of going through the hassle of insurance that we would just go get a quote and that they would pay for it our of their pocket. I figured that it would only cost a hundred dollars or so at the most, but turns out it would be more like a 400 dollar job. They told us that it would require removing the back bumper to fix and that it would take at best a day and half. Being our only car, we didn't really want to go through the hassle of leaving our car there for a few days. So, we devised a plan. We figured that we would cut the people a deal...instead of paying the 400 dollars to fix it, we decided to try to convince them to send us a 300 dollar check and call it even. They agreed without any argument, and we are now 300 dollars richer!!! There is no reason the fix the scratches, so we just made 300 dollars off of some rich guy and his high maintenance daughter. I cant complain!! Ive decided to park my car as close as possible to the lines and hope that we can make this a weekly experience.

Adventure #2 happened Friday night. It was Allison's week to pick our big date of the week. We are trying to limit the money we spend on our dates, so we decided to go play a little raquetball, cook a nice dinner, and go to a movie. Allison has been wanting to see the Hannah Montana Movie, and since it was at the dollar theater i conceded, joining High School Musical 3 and Bride Wars as the 3rd movie that I have seen after swearing NEVER to see it (and I have to admit that it was a lot better than I thought that it would be). There was only one problem with it....i ended up watching most of it by myself. Oh, Allison was there physically, she just has a hard time staying awake in movies. Haha. I should have known taking her to a movie at 10 pm wouldnt mix well. She was a trooper though, and really tried hard to stay awake and did end up enjoying the movie as well.

And Adventure #3 occured last night. After winning a bet with Allison (I beat her in multiple games of tennis) we swung over to 7-11 to get a slurpee. I am addicted to Coca-Cola slurpees, and hadnt had one in awhile. Its actually the third time in like a week that we have tried to get one, but everytime we go the slurpee machine has problems. Well, this time wasnt different. I didnt get my slurpee, which I am still upset about, but i DID witness history. You know the hot dog roller machines at 7-11 that ALWAYS have hot dogs rolling but you never know how long they have actually been there? Well, for the first time ever, I saw the 7-11 lady putting the hot dogs on the machine. Why she was doing putting hot dogs on at 11 pm at night I do not know, but I saw it and I have Allison as a witness. It made me almost forget about my lack of slurpee...almost.

Those were our adventures of the week. They may not sound that exciting or that wonderful, but we enjoyed them. All the funny stuff aside, we are really LOVING married life, and couldn't be happier. We are still adusting to each other's different habits, but are having the time our lives discovering new things about each other each day. Allison couldnt be a better wife and friend. I am a lucky guy to have her and cant complain one bit about my life. We are looking forward to going home to Logan this weekend, and then back to Colorado the next. We love our family and cant wait to spend some quality time with them...not to mention some of their money.

(P.S. Look for a more mature and insightful post from Allison next week)

One Month and Counting!

So today is our 1 month anniversary, if there is such thing. It is crazy to think that it has already been a month since we got married. Married life is treating us great though! Trevin has adjusted to my crazy eating habits and I have a new found love for ESPN......maybe its more like a love-hate relationship. While some adjustments were easy we are still working through some, apparently I am a covers-stealer at night but I don't believe it. But really, life is great and we are loving every minute of it!

This week was pretty normal. After a honeymoon, vacation, and a holiday its hard to have a regular week. Work is going good for both of us though. On Saturday Trevin took me on a hot date. We went to Chiles for dinner and then went to the driving range to hit some balls. I'm no Tiger Woods but I think I could get into this golf stuff. Its actually really fun.

We are really excited for the upcoming weekends. For Pioneer Day weekend we're going up to Logan to spend the weekend with the fam . Trevin's dad got all of us tickets to the new temple open house. We can't wait to go back up and spend time with family. The weekend after we are making the trek to Colorado. Trevin and I haven't seen our newest nephew Mathew Robinson yet, so we are going to go visit him and the rest of my family. I am so excited to go back home!! Welp that's our life, pretty simple, but the best ever!! Have a great week!

Our last weekend before returning to "Real Life"

So, since the wedding, Allison and I have spent most of our time vacationing and living off of wedding money and gift cards. It has been an amazing time, but unfortunately we came to the realization that it would soon have to end. This last weekend was our last weekend before returning to real life, so we decided to go out with a bang!

Because of the 4th of July holiday, we both had Friday off of work. We decided to start it off with a nice dose of sleeping in. Its the first time that we have been able to sleep in in our new apartment, so it was nice. My parents were coming down to pick up my little sister Kylie from EFY on Saturday morning, so we decided to take the rest of Friday to clean the apartment and run to the store to get a few things for the weekend. My parents came down in the afternoon, took us out to dinner, and then went with us to the festival downtown with Brock, Ashley and Cal. We walked around the festival, saw all the cool shops, and watched a litte comedy hypnotism. It was fun to be able to spend time with the family. My parents stayed with us overnight, so we threw out the air mattress in the living room for them. There was a dance going on by the pool at our apartment complex, and my father slipped out to "get something from the car." He was gone for quite awhile, so we gave him a hard time about stopping by to get his groove on. Haha

Saturday morning started off for Brock and me at 4:30 am. Yep, thats right, 4:30 am on a Saturday. We decided that it would be fun to stake out a spot to watch the parade. We were quite annoyed with all the people illegally staking out spots well before 5am, but we were luckily able to find a spot. Allison, Ashley and Cal joined us for the parade, as well as our good friends Trevor and Natalie. We had a good time cheering on the parade floats, and lending a supportive cheer for the pooper scoopers walking behind the horses....poor kids. After a MUCH needed nap, we got together with Brock and Ashley, Trevor and Natalie, Robbie and Jessica, and Joe and Darcy for a good ol BBQ. We recieved a grill for the wedding, so we decided it would be fun to test it out. The food turned out GREAT!!! It had been awhile since i had a good BBQ. Following the BBQ, we headed up to the park to see the fireworks. We waited for a lot longer than we had expected, but we ended up having a good view of the fireworks. It ended up being a great 4th of July full of floats, food, family, friends, and fireworks.

We came home late Saturday night to our wonderful single neighbors ligthing off fireworks. Some genius decided it would be funny to light off like 5 bricks of firecrackers in the little hallway just outside our door. They all thought it was pretty funny...that is until they saw me walk outside. I was ready to make some heads roll, but they didnt want none of me. Haha...ironic thing is that about a month ago i would have been out there with them, laughing at the upset old married man.

Well, that was about it for our weekend of bliss. Sunday was a great opportunity to relax and unwind. The bishop brought us into his office and sat us down to give us a calling. Allison and i are probably on of a handful of couples in the ward that dont have kids, so i guess it was only fitting that we are now working in the nursery!! What better than treats and games at church....and now i can do it without everyone looking at me like im a weirdo. We are pretty excited.

We have now returned to work and all the other things that come with real life. We dont really have any big vacations planned for the summer, so we better get used to it. We have realized that the wedding money and gift cards do unfortunately run out, so i guess its good that we are back to work. We hope that everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!! God Bless America!!!

Since the Wedding

Trevin and I have been married for two weeks now. The wedding was perfect and so much fun! We were married in the Denver Temple and then had our reception in Fort Collins. So many of our friends and family were able to make it. It was a great day....the best ever! We went on our honeymoon to Palm Beach Florida and got back last a little over a week ago. The weather and beach were amazing and we even held some real baby alligators. Everything was so perfect.

When we got back we settled down and went back to work for a couple days. Trevin works part-time for BYU grounds and part-time in the soils lab on campus. I work part-time for BYU grounds and then for an investment company called Merrill Financial.

Real life was short lived because on Wednesday we left for a family reunion at Bear Lake in northern Utah. It was so fun to get to know Trevin's extended family better and who can complain about swimming, food, and playing sports for a week. We had a great time and loved being with family. Now we are back to working and getting used to married life. I'll try and be better about this whole blogging thing, its actually not as bad as I thought it would be.

The Beginning of Blogging

So when Trevin and I got engaged we were so stoked to make a blog together, kinda like we were a little family and everything. Well as far as we got was putting up a picture. Now that we are married and things have calmed down a little we thought we would get started blogging officially, not to mention Trevor and Natalie inspired us.
