Everything is better miniature and pink

With a baby shower and Christmas this past week Trevin and I have seen plenty of miniature and pink and with each new thing we unwrapped we loved pink and miniature more and more. In fact I think it has become a new obsession, at least for me. If its baby size and comes in pink chances are I want it. Here are the awesome Nike's that Trev's parents bought her for Christmas. Seriously, how can you not love those?!

We aren't dumb enough to buy a newborn a $68 swimsuit but if I were isn't this pretty much adorable, I love it! Maybe we'll look a little more in our price range

Lucky Girl!

Caution: parts of this may appear cheesy and sentimental, don't say you weren't warned.

Today was one of those days where I couldn't stop counting my blessings. I woke up this morning and realized that Trevin and I have been married for exactly a year and a half today. Yes it still early enough that we count halves and quarters and months and sometimes even weeks if we're feeling extremely mushy. Anyways what an amazing year and a half it has been. I have the greatest husband in the whole world! The only thing that has changed about us since our wedding day is that we love each other more, we're both better looking, Trevin knows how to fold laundry, and I know stats on every college football team. Really though the last year and a half have been so great and it only seems like every day is better than the one before.

Now as I continued to count my blessings today... we went to the doctor's office for our 20 week ultrasound of our little girl. I am the type that worries far too much and you can't even imagine my happiness when we saw her kicking around like crazy on the ultrasound. Everything looked perfect according to the doctor. She is even measuring a week ahead at 15 ounces! Yeah I have a little 1 pounder in my stomach. But never have I been so grateful than to hear that everything is good with our baby. Its crazy how many little things babies have going on inside their bodies and how many things have to work for them to be healthy and what a blessing it is to me that she is healthy.
Well because of my happiness about our 1.5 anniversary and our .5 of a healthy baby that I've grown the rest of my normally dreaded day turned into blessings too. I'm so lucky I was able to go to work and take a final exam :) See nothing can get me down today!!

I've been busy

Been busy? Doing what you might ask. I have officially grown half a baby. 20 weeks!! Well I'm sure there is a whole baby in there, SHE is just halfway done growing. Yup thats right, our baby is a SHE. We found out a couple weeks ago that we're having a girl. We are so excited! Anyways in case anyone thinks I've been a slacker lately now you know I've been extremely busy growing body parts for our little girl

Christmas Catalog Moment

Whether Trevin knows it or not we had one of those Christmas catalog moments tonight. You know exactly what I mean....those pictures that you see in like the JC Penny's catalog around Christmas time. No, I am by no means saying Trevin and I look like models. I'm just telling it as I see it. The husband is putting up Christmas decorations while the pregnant wifey is helping with the big cheesy grin on her face. Well that happened to tonight. It was completely perfect, we had the Christmas music going, Trevin decorated the house while I attempted to help, the state of Utah is on the verge of the biggest snow storm that has happened in a bajillion years, and now we're watching the Christmas Carol. How awesome are the holidays!!

Blog-worthy Date

As Trevin and I were pulling up at our apartment tonight I said, "aww that was a fun date, thanks!" and in his super sarcastic 15 year old girl voice he said, "OMG you should blog about it" so maybe I will do just that!

Wallstreet anyone? We went and saw the movie and I LOVED it! I'm pretty sure Trevin was super bored but every time I leaned over to ask him he acted like he loved it. He was a good sport for taking me though.

In order to bring Trevin back to life after 2 hours of having financial terms spewed at him we went to In-N-Out. Yup it was great and no I didn't eat a burger....I'm not that crazy yet.

This picture wasn't taken for blogging but to sent to Trevin's dad just to spice up the night with some jealously....apparently he was extremely jealous and this was the text Trevin received back after sending our In-N-Out picture.

Yeah, not too pleased I guess....maybe it means he will come visit us/In-N-Out more :)

Anyways the night concluded with a little shopping trip to Walmart and no night would be a good one for Trevin without sports so here we are on the couch watching basketball.

16 and pregnant and our first trial run

16 weeks pregnant that is. Even though I really do have a slight obsession with the show 16 and pregnant, its a Tuesday night staple in our house, feel free to come watch with me! Anyways Trevin took a picture of my 16 week belly. Here it is...enjoy

On another note, the other day our awesome friends Brooke and Sam needed a babysitter for my best friend Connor aka their 6 month old son. Of course I agreed! Me and him are tight like peanut butter and jelly. Anyways this was Trevin and my first trial run together with a little baby. It was great, Trevin cooked dinner, did the dishes, AND cleaned the house while I played with Connor. If that was anything like the real deal this baby thing is going to be great. Connor fell asleep in my arms after playing for an hour....SO easy. I'm sure this baby thing will be a piece of cake....well maybe not but I'm sure it will be fun!

Win Big--Make A Guess

Ok guys, my sister-in-law Ashley just made this cool thing on some baby website but its pretty much awesome so everyone has to go make a guess. Seriously go guess the details of our baby and you could win big! I don't exactly know what the prize will be yet but something awesome like getting to babysit our child or something. Either way its fun so go guess!!

Instructions Required

Saturday night Trev and I ventured into Babies R Us. I know we still have a million years till this baby is born but after some prodding about Christmas lists from mothers/mother-in-laws we decided it was about time to look at some baby stuff. So we "oooh-ed" and "awwwed" at all the precious little baby stuff. Yep, definitely first timers, we could be spotted a mile away. Plus considering neither Trevin or I look pregnant so we felt completely out of place. We got to the stroller aisle and decided we should look at the stroller we've been wanting to see if its really any good. There was another couple in the same aisle that looked somewhat more experienced. They were handling multiple strollers and folding them up and taking off car seats all in swift smooth movements....definitely pros.
Once we got the stroller down to look at it our first mission was to take the car seat off. After about 5 minutes of pushing different buttons and tugging on the car seat we decided we better wait till the pro couple left so we didn't look completely incompetent of caring for a child. After they couple left we decided to give it another go and finally found the button to get the car seat off. Our next attempt was at folding up the stroller.....another 15 minute struggle. Needless to say we finally figured it all out I just can't imagine how crib assembly will go.

Professors that cancel class are my hero

This morning after guiltily sleeping through my 8:00 class I woke up to find an email written earlier that morning from my professor saying class was cancelled. My guilt quickly left me and my finance professor became my hero as the rest of my day turned out remarkably well because of it. I got up and ate breakfast without feeling like puking, put on my skinny jeans which miraculously still fit and went to work. At school the two mid-terms I bombed didn't even phase me and I came home and took a nap. Seriously this is a shout out to my finance professor for making it a great day!

On a side note.....

I know you've been hearing about voting all month from gung-ho U.S. citizens but what I'm about to say is actually really serious, pay attention. We find out in one month the gender of our baby and need you to cast your vote before then, no joke. Please be patriotic and do your duty. Also anyone who would like to make bets on the gender of our baby please see Amanda Fairbanks...she's the brains behind that. Careful, she might scam you :)

On to Thirds

As Trevin and I were getting ready to go on a date tonight I played my flashback game like I always do and asked him what were we doing last Halloween. Yup....Ninja Turtles and blissfully married for 4 months.

On our way home from dinner Trevin mentioned being at my parents house for Halloween one year. So once again we played the flashback game...two years ago Trevin met my parents for the first time Halloween weekend, we'd been dating for 2 whole months.

This is our THIRD Halloween together. Yes we are now counting thirds of holidays, so exciting!! And now we're 3 months pregnant.

Who knows what will happen by the time we can start counting fourths.....

A Tribute to Trevin

For all of you who thought Trevin was a manly man that only watched ESPN, grunted, and ate chips you are in for a surprise. When I came home from school this evening to a clean kitchen and dinner in the oven I decided it was time you all know how great the guy really is, you probably already knew but just in case. We seem to be having a rocky time the last few weeks with this whole I feel like I wanna puke constantly thing but Trevin is always so calm about it, even when I almost threw up on him the other day. There have been additions to his repertoire lately including.....

breakfast, lunch, and dinner making--I'm kind of a two year old when it comes to eating these days and Trevin is so nice and patient and will make me anything, even if I don't eat it and have him make something else, even if its 7:00 in the morning or 12:00 at night.

leg rubbing--I get the worst restless legs ever now especially at like 2 AM. Trev always wakes up and will rub my legs, not to mention he puts up with my endless flutter kicks all night

laundry/house cleaning--somehow our house seems to get very messy between the time we get home at night and the time we leave for school in the morning but somehow it also gets all cleaned up like magic before I get home from school, no thanks to me.

The list could go on and on but the point is Trevin is absolutely amazing and so awesome!! I couldn't ask for a better husband. Without him I probably would have no clean clothes, have starved to death and have horribly restless legs right now but really, sorry to get all mushy but HE IS THE BEST!!

Typical BYU Girl

Being pregnant my final semester at BYU was definitely the last straw, I must finally come to terms with the fact that as much as I have fought it I am a 100% typical BYU girl. I know, its embarrassing. Only recently have I been able to admit to it. This embarrassing stereotype has followed me ever since sophomore year and as much as I tried to resist it I only fell deeper and deeper into the stereotype.

#1 Started dating the RM right after he got off his mission. He was 21, I was 19

#2 Got married within a year of meeting and was still under the age of 21

#3 Trevin gets called into the bishopric of our married ward

#4 After a year of being married we're having a baby, I'm still 21....
#5 All of the BYU stereotypes will cumulate this April when I am a week short of giving birth and waddle across the stage to get my diploma at graduation.....

Yup....typical BYU, but we're happy and loving life and sooooooooo excited for our new little baby coming April 28th-ish!!!!!

A break down in the system

Since Trevin and I have been married we have had down the absolute best system. I would look through the ads before we went to the store, we never went into the frozen foods, chips and cookies, or prepared food aisles. We would stick to our list and come out saving oodles of money. Yes we were pretty much awesome at it.
Lately however grocery shopping seems to be a little more traumatic. When I finally realize there is no food in the house and the realization that we have to go sets in I'm not usually very pleasant.

Since the break down in our grocery shopping system our cart is usually filled by browsing the store for anything that looks appealing and more and more items seem to be coming from the once forbidden aisles.
Maybe one day we will get back to our amazing system but for now I'm not complaining, as long as we keep the shopping to a minimal.

All Alone All Weekend

The last time I slept alone in my bed was the night before this.......

Now I have to sleep in my bed alone all weekend!!! The first time in 15 months but in return I get to be in this glorious city for three days

I'm still trying to figure out how in the world I will cope. I'm sure a little bit of shopping will help cheer me up :)

Flashbacks

With school starting and the weather turning to fall it makes me start to play the flashback game. Trevin probably gets super sick of it because everything that happens reminds me of something from the past. Here is how it goes:

We drive up the canyon and I say "awww remember our first date when we came up here, awww how cute, now we're married." Or we go to a football game "Remember when we were dating and we went to football games together, aww how cute, now we're married." Yeah he probably gets super sick of my reminiscing so I'm sparing him and turning to blogging.

This time last year this was me. The junior core accounting program pretty much killed me and all I ever wanted to do was sleep. I am sooooooo glad to me done with that year, hardest year of school ever.

This is the glorious building where I spent the entire past year. This time last year I lived in the Tanner building. Bleh, thank goodness that is over, now I only spent half my life in there.

This time two years ago is much more fun to play flashback about. Trevin and I had just started dating. Its crazy to think about all the things we did then that we would never do now. Trevin hiked the Y with me and I ate beef. We did many a group date with his buddy Trevor and his now wife Natalie. Good times!!

This time two years ago Trevin and I took a road trip to Fort Collins for the BYU vs CSU football game. While in Ft Collins I met all of his buddies from school and he met my parents.

College Football: We have a love/hate relationship

As the official start of college football kicks off tonight I'm debating my opinion of the college football season. Currently Trevin is watching the Utah vs Pittsburgh game. It has only been 30 minutes--my blood pressure has risen drastically, I've developed a twitch in my right leg, and my brain feels like its being squeezed to the size of a popcorn kernel. I don't know what it is, there is something about random football games that I find totally frustrating and boring. Don't get me wrong, I love BYU football. In fact I am so pumped for the game Saturday. And I love the Broncos too. I'll even watch those games occasionally. I just can't seem to understand the need to watch every football game regardless of who is playing. These are the best conversations:

Me: Trevin who do you want to win the game?
Trevin: Oh it doesn't matter I don't really care
Me: Why are you even watching the game....

Seriously. I guess I'll just have to hit the mall more to easy my college football anxiety.

Proud New Parents......of a Chevy Malibu

Yes that is right, we finally bought a car and it is our little baby. Today I picked up Trevin after work and we set out on what I thought would be a miserable journey to find a new car. We had our eye on a 2007 Chevy Malibu in Salt Lake. We headed up there figuring the salesman would be a jerk, we would hate the car, and come home miserable. These assumptions were all based on previous car shopping adventures. Well little did I know how surprisingly please we would be with today's outcome. We went up to Mark Miller Toyota in Salt Lake. Best place ever to buy a car, ps if you do buy a car there mention our name because they like referrals. Anyways we test drove this Malibu that we had had our eye on. Before we ever started the car buying experience it was decided that I would do all the talking, I'm the money person and most definitely better at bargaining. Anyways we went on the test drive and the salesman came with us. Super awkward. I couldn't say how much I loved the car and I would pay whatever for it and didn't even need a test drive with the salesman sitting right there. That would ruin the whole bargaining effect. So as Trevin drove the car around I picked out every possible thing there is to hate about a car and shared my opinions loud and clear. By the time we got back from the test drive Trevin was fuming mad and I thought he would never speak to me again. Unfortunately he has never been very good at the bargaining thing and had no idea that it was all fake. Well we struck a deal with the salesman, got a good bargain and drove off the lot as proud new parents of a Chevy Malibu. Hopefully we wont have to do the whole car buying thing again for awhile now.

Rehab and Car Shopping

So I've been trying to kick my addiction for McDonald's ice cream cones. They aren't all that bad for you, I mean if you need a treat it doesn't get much better than a 150 calories cone of dreaminess. Unfortunately this little dollar splurge has started to add up and so Trevin has been desperately trying to get me to quit. It is tough and some days I go through withdrawals but I am officially clean since Wednesday. So what four days? Don't worry I'm still going strong......except for the carton of ice cream I bought at Smiths today. Oops.

On another happy note, Trevin and I went car shopping today and I absolutely hated it. Our car, aka the Sauna is becoming unbearable without air conditioning and we aren't sure when it will completely give up on us. Anyways, there is nothing worse than walking around car lots in the 100 degree weather gazing at all the car that are way out of your budget wishing you could buy them. We schemed and plotted and recalculated and reassessed and no matter how hard we tried those beautiful cars were still out of our price limit. The cars in our budget were the ones in the back corner with the beat up bumper and smoke coming out the hood. Well needless to say we left the dealership empty handed hoping that maybe next time we would be more lucky. I don't know if I'm even up for a next time.

Oh Summer Please Stay Forever

Well unfortunately summer is coming to a close really soon. It is even more unfortunate that I feel like my summer is just beginning since classes ended on Thursday. Despite school and work Trevin and I managed to have an amazingly fun summer! It seems like there were lots of moments this summer where I realized how awesome this summer has been and how much great stuff we have been able to do. These were the very best, most fun moments of the summer. Here they are....in no specific order:

Swimming in a cove at Lake Powell. Another boat drove by playing California Gurls and since then I absolutely love that song.

The hot tub at the Waldorf in Park City. There was classical music playing in the background and an awesome view of the mountain, not to mention it was our anniversary!!

The Fort Collins drive-inn. We saw Toy Story 3 opening night.

Riding jet skis at Bear Lake. This picture is actually Lake Powell but you get the idea. Trevin's parents rented us some jet skis to play around with while we were at Bear Lake

The Rockies Game. My parents took us to a game while we were back for a visit. We had great seats and the Rockies won 17-2

Jack Johnson concert. The concert last night was so awesome and inspired this blog post.

Eating McDonald's ice cream cones. I am seriously obsessed, just ask Trevin. Actually don't ask Trevin because it's embarrassing how much I constantly want them.

SUMMA SUMMA SUMMA

As of yesterday it is officially summer! Trevin and I have been living it up as much as possible before he starts getting busy with school. Yeah for once Trevin will actually have hard classes and homework and I will be the one playing Tiger Woods Wii golf all the time....or maybe just hitting the mall instead. This past weekend we went to Colorado for Trevin's buddy's wedding. It was the best hoe-down I've ever been to. I totally forgot to take pictures so I'll just have to describe it. The groom was in jeans and a cowboy hat and we were sitting on hay bales. Need I say more. Haha but actually it was a really awesome wedding and so much fun to be back home. We were able to spend sometime with my parents and my brother's family. One night we actually went to the drive-in with Richard's family. It was the opening night of Toy Story 3 so naturally we had to go see it. The drive-in in Fort Collins has to be one of my favorite summer things to do. The weather was great and my sister-in-law Adriane even supplied some pretty awesome Toy Story 3 snacks for us. We had so much fun in Fort Collins that the whole way back to Utah all I could think about was how fast we can get back.

We now have a week at home to make a little money and remember what its like to not be on vacation all the time. After this week we are headed to Bear Lake for Trevin's family reunion. I can't wait! It has been awhile since we have seen his family and most important our lil nephew Callin......he's really the reason for all the excitement.

Trevin has just been working hard playing with dirt everyday and I just started the second semester of summer school. Really it is about time for the whole school thing to be over. Besides that things are pretty normal here for us. Just really loving summer!!

Our Adventures as of Late!

Well, Allison has been bugging me for a few weeks to update the blog. I've been putting it off, but figured I should probably get around to it. Honestly, i should have done it weeks ago seeing as how I now have a million things to update about. I hope that I can get everything in that I want (and more importantly what she wants).

Summer is finally upon us, and Allison and I have been enjoying it! Its great to finally have Allison back to her normal self after a few brutal semesters of school. She is currently taking spring and summer classes, but they are not nearly as intense as the last few semesters. Its great to be able to spend more time with her. Along with school, Allison continues to work at Merrill Financial. I keep telling her that she has to hold onto that job for as long as she can. Why? Well, Memorial Day weekend her boss Roger took us to Lake Powell on basically an all expenses paid trip complete with houseboat, ski boat, jet skis, great food and best of all great company. We had an absolutely AMAZING time. Nothing better than relaxing in the sun, stuffing your face constantly and having lots of laughs with some great people. We were really sad to leave and wish that we could live on that houseboat. We are looking into a few business ideas that would allow us to live on Lake Powell year round. Haha.

The weekend after Lake Powell we got together with some good friends from the ward, TJ and Vanessa Stone, and took a nice morning hike up to Stewart Falls. Allison had been wanting to go on a hike for awhile, and we heard that Stewart Falls was a great hike to go on. We were quite surprised with how much fun it really was. The hike wasn't too hard and the falls were actually quite amazing.

Well, those two adventures were fun and all, but the best was this past weekend. Believe it or not, we have been married for 1 YEAR!!! Yeah, I still cant believe it either. To celebrate, I booked a nice (an AMAZING) hotel up in Park City to just relax and spend some time together. We headed up Friday afternoon and came back Sunday. We had an amazing time together. We decided to split up Friday and Saturday as far as planning activities went. Friday was Allison's day. We started off with a little picnic in Provo canyon (definitely a nice surprise). We rolled into Park City at about 3, caught a movie (Iron Man 2, yeah i got to pick) and then went to dinner at the No Name Saloon on Main Street. They are famous for their buffalo burgers, and they did not disappoint. Allison even got one and enjoyed it, which is saying something. Saturday was my day. The weather wasnt the greatest, so we decided to take it easy and kind of just relax. We woke up late, hung out in our amazing hotel room and then went and did a little shopping. Allison, like any other woman, loves to shop. Park City has some nice outlet stores that had a ton of stores that Allison loves. I gotta say, I think I was an amazing wingman, and helped Allison get some pretty nice new clothes. We have learned over the past year to compromise, so after shopping we returned to the hotel to relax and watch a little World Cup action (great work USA and Argentina by the way). Allison was a great sport, thanks to the shopping and a dozen red roses. We ended off Saturday evening with dinner at a great Italian restaurant. It was a perfect ending to a great day. Sunday morning we again woke up late, checked out of the hotel and visited the farmer's market on main street. More than anything it was kinda fun to just people watch. Haha, i think farmer's markets bring out some of the best people. Anyways, we had an amazing weekend and it was the perfect way to celebrate our first year of marriage. A perfect weekend for a perfect year!!

Whew! That was a mouthful. We are now back in Provo for a few more days before some more adventures. This weekend we are heading back to Colorado with Trevor and Natalie Sterling for an old buddy's wedding. We are excited to get back to FoCo and spend some time with Allison's family. We haven't seen them since Christmas, so it should be a good time. After Colorado we are off for a week, just enough time to recuperate and prepare for the annual Bear Lake trip which is always a good time. We are really excited for the rest of the summer and Allison will give the next update (thats right babe, its now your turn).

No, its not the shade. Allison really is that tan. Glad that some of us don't just turn red in the sun.
View of the boat with the main man himself. Thanks Rog!!
Allison and Cari on the boat.
Darren and I about to be killed on the tube. Not the greatest idea.
Hiking up to the Rainbow Bridge Arch. Didn't know it beforehand, but it happened to be the 100th birthday of the Arch. Kinda cool.
Nothing like a morning boat ride.
Getting ready for a jet ski ride.
View from the houseboat...Amazing.
The happy couple at the falls!
TJ and I hiking up to the falls. Picture makes it look a lot more daring than it really was.
Just hanging out in the hot tub. The Waldorf Astoria really brought her A-game. Loved that hotel!
After one year of marriage its surprising how much you learn to compromise...Allison gets roses in front of the fireplace and I get to watch the World Cup.
A little taste of our room, the picture doesn't really do it justice.
TV placed conveniently in front of the toilet...every man's dream.
Bathrobes and Slippers, gotta love 'em.
Dinner at Ghidotti's, an amazing Italian restaurant. (Yes, totally romantic and totally my idea)
