Thank You Mark Zuckerberg!

Trevin and I watched "The Social Network" with a couple friends tonight. Afterwards it got me thinking about how different life would be without Facebook. I concluded that Trevin and I might not be a "thing" if it weren't for Mark Zuckerberg. Its a funny story but first a big shout out to Mark Zuckerberg, without you our Cardon-ness would not exist!

Anyways now for the funny story.....The summer after my freshman year I was home in Colorado when one of my friends mentioned a couple of her guys friends who just got home from their missions and would be at BYU the coming fall. One of them had a girlfriend who waited while he was on his mission but the other one was this kid named Trevin Cardon. My friend said she would introduce me to him. She described him as a dreamy 6'1'' high school quarterback but really how often do you believe those descriptions. Obviously I needed to do my own research....thank you Facebook. After sufficiently stalking Trevin on Facebook I decided that he would be good flirting/friend/who knows what could happen material. At this point I showed another one of my friends his picture and she said she knew him and volunteered to set us up. She requested him as a friend on facebook and starting chatting back and forth with him about his plans when he moved to Provo. Through all this she found out he was going to be living in the same apartment complex as me (FATE!) and had arranged for all of us to hang out the night I moved in. Well the long awaited day finally came, after an 8 hour car ride and moving A LOT of stuff into my apartment I looked and smelled like I had just run a marathon not like I was about to meet my future husband, haha. Anyways Trevin and his roommate helped me change the license plates on the new car I had just bought and in return I offered to cook them dinner a couple nights later. The next day I get a text from Trevin bailing on my dinner offer because of other plans BUT he did ask me on a date for the next night. We went on the date and the rest is history. Here we are 2 1/2 years later, happily married with a baby on the way. Mark Zuckerberg you're the man!

Here's a picture from our first date

I'm a big girl now.....literally

In the past week or so I have made what would be monumental steps in life....if I were a 5 year old that is. I've had my blood drawn, my first IV, and a flu shot all without passing out. Yeah I bet my 5 year old niece handles that stuff better than me. Either way they were proud moments in my book.

Speaking of monumental steps and getting big literally I am officially wearing my first maternity shirt today. Yes, I caved. Not to mention I feel like I can finally breath again (well besides the person in my belly using my diaphragm as a pillow). Those regular clothes were just getting too tight. Now 25 weeks and 7 lbs down only, 15-ish more weeks and way more lbs than possible to go! I can't wait to meet our little soccer star, ninja, gymnast girl!!

Domestication, My Man Can Swing a Hammer and Our ER Adventures

Domestication:

So since I'm now graduated and don't have to go to school anymore I decided I would finally become the domesticated wife Trevin and probably every other boy dreams about. You know the dinner on the table, clean clothes in the drawer type. All weekend I surfed the internet looking for recipes and planning out menus, getting all ready for my big debut on Monday. The first day back from break. So Monday rolled around and I did the laundry and went to the grocery store. By the time I left Walmart I vowed never to go back, oh and I accidentally shrunk one of Trev's shirts in the wash but he wont know until he reads this. Anyways I made dinner and did the dishes. Day 1 of domestication successful. Whew I don't know how long I can keep this up though. Day 2....the ER.

My Man Can Swing a Hammer:

I just wanted to make everyone aware of what a stud Trev is with the tools. Our crib came today and within a few hours of it arriving Trevin had it all put together, all the pieces in the right spot and everything. There weren't any tantrums, injuries, or broken parts as usually seen on T.V. Good thing Trev is a stud, look what he made....

Adventures in the ER:

Like I said before Day 2 of domestication was mostly spent in the ER. Last night when I went to bed I was having trouble breathing. I finally fell asleep and figured it would be gone by the morning. Well when I woke up this morning it was still there. As I was driving to work it got so bad I thought I was going to pass out so I figured I should go to the doctor. At the doctor they looked at my oxygen levels, listened to my breathing, and ran some tests on my blood (the nurse should be fired for the horrible bruise he gave me). A couple hours after I left the doctor's office I got a call from the doctor saying I needed to go to the emergency room right away because some levels in my blood were really high (whatever it is that says you have blood clots). So they thought maybe I had blood clots in my lungs. Well they drew more blood at the ER, put an IV in and ran a CAT scan. Everything came back totally clear but it was quite the scare for the day. But if we're being positive about it at least I'm a pro at getting blood drawn and IV's now.

Everything is better miniature and pink

With a baby shower and Christmas this past week Trevin and I have seen plenty of miniature and pink and with each new thing we unwrapped we loved pink and miniature more and more. In fact I think it has become a new obsession, at least for me. If its baby size and comes in pink chances are I want it. Here are the awesome Nike's that Trev's parents bought her for Christmas. Seriously, how can you not love those?!

We aren't dumb enough to buy a newborn a $68 swimsuit but if I were isn't this pretty much adorable, I love it! Maybe we'll look a little more in our price range

Lucky Girl!

Caution: parts of this may appear cheesy and sentimental, don't say you weren't warned.

Today was one of those days where I couldn't stop counting my blessings. I woke up this morning and realized that Trevin and I have been married for exactly a year and a half today. Yes it still early enough that we count halves and quarters and months and sometimes even weeks if we're feeling extremely mushy. Anyways what an amazing year and a half it has been. I have the greatest husband in the whole world! The only thing that has changed about us since our wedding day is that we love each other more, we're both better looking, Trevin knows how to fold laundry, and I know stats on every college football team. Really though the last year and a half have been so great and it only seems like every day is better than the one before.

Now as I continued to count my blessings today... we went to the doctor's office for our 20 week ultrasound of our little girl. I am the type that worries far too much and you can't even imagine my happiness when we saw her kicking around like crazy on the ultrasound. Everything looked perfect according to the doctor. She is even measuring a week ahead at 15 ounces! Yeah I have a little 1 pounder in my stomach. But never have I been so grateful than to hear that everything is good with our baby. Its crazy how many little things babies have going on inside their bodies and how many things have to work for them to be healthy and what a blessing it is to me that she is healthy.
Well because of my happiness about our 1.5 anniversary and our .5 of a healthy baby that I've grown the rest of my normally dreaded day turned into blessings too. I'm so lucky I was able to go to work and take a final exam :) See nothing can get me down today!!

I've been busy

Been busy? Doing what you might ask. I have officially grown half a baby. 20 weeks!! Well I'm sure there is a whole baby in there, SHE is just halfway done growing. Yup thats right, our baby is a SHE. We found out a couple weeks ago that we're having a girl. We are so excited! Anyways in case anyone thinks I've been a slacker lately now you know I've been extremely busy growing body parts for our little girl
