11 months of marriage

So this week was our 11 month anniversary. I know all you old people laugh that we still count months but pretty soon we can start counting years! Until then I thought I would share what I've learned for these first 11 months of marriage

June '09--There is no off season for ESPN

July '09--Guys really don't like to see you crying, it freaks them out at first

August '09--Life is really amazing when you get to spend it with your best friend!

September '09--Men really can do dishes, cook, do laundry, and grocery shop.....it just sometimes takes no clean dishes, no clean underwear, and no food for them to realize their potential

October '09--Working in the church nursery can really show you how mature your husband is....when they eat the goldfish and take the kids toys to play with themselves you know you still have awhile before you have children

November '09--Sometimes boys need space, living in a 400 sq. ft. hamster cage can make a guy crazy enough to have us rent a new apartment and completely pack and move all of our stuff in 24hrs. using only a Honda Accord.

December '09--Every husband really needs a Wii

January '10--A heated mattress pad is not essential to a good nights sleep on a cold winter night, husbands are an even better substitute

February '10--Husband's hate you see you stressed will do anything to make it go away

March '10--There really is no off season for ESPN!

April '10--As the weather warms up watching people awkwardly try to flirt on campus makes you so grateful you're already married

May '10--Just when you think life can't get any better you wake up the next day and find yourself more in love than the day before

Life After Accounting

Let me just tell you since my last official accounting classes of college ended a week ago life has been amazing! I had forgotten how relaxing and fun life could be. I decided to make a list of all the things I've rediscovered since finishing the semester. Waking up late, going to bed early, afternoon naps, any sort of sleeping in general, cooking, running, Trevin, laughing, the mall, friends, the list could go on and on but I think you get the point, accounting is bad for the soul but I'm so grateful to be done!

Trevin and I celebrate our one year anniversary in a month and a half. I cannot believe its been a whole year but this past week has made me realize it has been the best year of my life. Trevin is the best husband in the world and since I'm into making lists here's my recent bragging list on him: he's been doing laundry, dishes, cooking, surprise dates, and good dance moves, it doesn't get any better, love him!

This blog is so random but the final thing is since I have this new found free time I've been trying to cook new things and try new recipes. Let me tell you some are studs and some are duds (Trevin told me dinner sucked the other night, its ok because I didn't want to eat it either). I think I might start updating on new stuff we make that's actually good. Here is our latest stud....remember girls camp or scouts? Tin foil dinner all the way! We put marinated chicken and vegetables in aluminum foil and grilled it. We were so happy we took some pictures, here they are....

Donkey Kong Documentary, really?

Thanks to Trevin's wonderful brother Brock we now have access to Netflixs on our T.V. Actually now that we are sitting down watching a documentary on Donkey Kong I'm not sure if I'm still grateful for this nice gift. Trevor and Natalie came over and I've learned the consequences of letting the boys pick the movie. I have to admit though I am learning a thing or two about the video game world. I had no idea that there were actually people out there who idolize video game pros. In fact I didn't even know there were such thing as professional gamers but let me tell you there are! This is big stuff. If you want a good laugh and a long attention span, which I'm really lacking right now, check it out.

Anyways this weekend has been amazing! Trevin and I finished our finals on Wednesday and celebrated by having his family come down for the night. The next morning we helped Brock and Ashley move to Logan. Trevin and I are still going through Callin withdrawals but with therapy we're doing a little bit better. He is seriously the cutest little dude ever! To celebrate my short summer break I took the day off on Friday and just relaxed. Trevin surprised me that night by taking me to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner and then we went and saw the movie Back-up Plan. Poor Trevin. The movie theater was filled with middle age ladies laughing hysterically at every joke about child birth. But it was a funny movie that has officially sworn me off to having children. If J-Lo looks horrible pregnant there's not much hope for anyone else. Today was just a relaxing Saturday which involved waking up late, cereal while watching Friday Night Lights--my new T.V. obsession, a trip to Walmart, a good run around the neighborhood and concluded with a BBQ and this wonderful Donkey Kong documentary.

My short summer break has been amazing and I'm all refreshed to start classes again on Tuesday.....NOT!

Writer's Block

Been awhile since we last blogged. You'd think i would have a lot to say, but i currently have writer's block. I wish that i could say that it was due to all the studying that i have done for finals, but who am i kidding, we all know that that would be a lie. And we know where liars go...

Finals are coming up. Thank Heavens we are almost done with the semester! I'm proud to say that i have the most amazing wife, and cant wait for her to be done with the accounting junior core. She has done so well, and is on the last push here before finals. Unfortunately she doesn't get much of a break. She is going to go to both spring and summer terms so that she can graduate in December. Hopefully the classes will be a little bit easier than the last few semesters. We are excited for the summer to start!!

The sun has finally come out in Utah, which has put us both in a great mood. It does make it hard though to focus on anything that isn't baseball or golf, which we all know are the two best things about this time of year, although i am still trying to convince my wife of that. To her credit i may overdo it sometimes.

Well, all is well at the Cardon house. Hopefully our posts will be a little bit more frequent. Dont expect too much though, especially with baseball and golf lingering.

Trevin's Ideal Weekend

Well we had a fun and busy weekend. It is probably similar to what Trevin would imagine as his ideal weekend it was filled with sports, wife, sports, sports, sports and some more wife. Haha. Friday night I abandoned Trevin to go see the movie Dear John with Melissa Lindsey and Jenn Stacey. They are two of my really good friends from high school so it was nice to have a girls night out. By the way, the movie was amazing! In the meantime Trevin indulged in his favorite pastime, watching the Nuggets. The beat the Lakers Friday night which was great because the Lakers are just dumb. Anyways Saturday morning we got up to go to Trevin's intramural basketball game. They at least doubled the score of the team they played and a couple guys on their team even got some dunks in. I almost wanted to start cheering for the other team because I felt bad for them. Not too long after that game ended BYU was playing at UNLV so of course we couldn't miss watching that. Well actually just Trevin and Brock watched it. Sleep was a bigger priority to me. After the BYU game ended Trevor and Natalie game over and we headed to Salt Lake to watch the Nuggets play the Jazz. Part of Trevin's birthday present from me was tickets to this game so we have been looking forward to it. We stopped at Chipolte on the way there. It's one of Trevin's favorite places but after being sick in bed all morning feeling its effects on my stomach I've sworn it off. The Nuggets game was great. It was a really close game which was fun the only disappointing thing was Carmelo and Chauncey were both injured. Given that their star players were out the Nuggs put up a legit fight but ended up losing by 10. Because of events during the game Natalie has earned the new nickname of either St. Nat or the hot dog lady, I haven't decided yet. There was a kid carrying three drinks and three hotdogs up the steps at the game and totally tripped right in front of us and all of his stuff spilled everywhere. Nat felt so bad for the kid that she went to concessions stand and explained what happened and they gave her new food. The little kids were so happy when she went and gave it to them. Man what a saint. Well the superbowl concluded our intense weekend of sports. We went over to Brock and Ashley's to watch the game and eat lots of good party food. Too bad the Saints won and Austin Collie will have to keep waiting for that superbowl ring.

Whew after all that sports this weekend good thing next weekend is Valentines and I can have my ideal romantic weekend, right Trevin?

Happy early birthday Trevin!
The other half of our double date team

Yeah Nuggs!
At Chipolte before the game, if you can't tell we're excited!

BYU vs. Utah Basketball Game

Brock and I showed up 3 hours before game time to get in line, and these were the seats that we got. Its ok, any seat to see the Utes get beat are good seats.

Little Cal cheering on the Cougars.

Allison and I enjoying the big win!!!
