Ignorance is Bliss?

Trev and I went to our second birthing class tonight. We watched birthing videos.....

  • Do you think those ladies got paid for allowing themselves to be filmed?
  • How awkward would that be if someone came up to you in the grocery store and said they saw you on a birthing video?
  • Trev thinks they should update the videos since they're from the 90's, can you imagine approaching someone asking them if they will be filmed for a birthing video?
  • Seriously?! That looks physically impossible
  • I hope this Oreo McFlurry I'm eating while writing this is either going to her thighs or my thighs, just not her head please!
  • I think I may have been better off not knowing how its all going to work out. Class tonight definitely brought new meaning to the phrase "Ignorance is Bliss."

Mother-In-Laws

No I'm not trying to suck up or brown nose she probably doesn't even read this blog....

Being Trevin's birthday I was thinking about how grateful I am to have him. Sorry this is a minor deviation but since it is his birthday I better give him a little bit of credit for being as awesome as he is!! Trevin is seriously the greatest. I know I just blogged about his greatness recently so I will spare you all another bout of Trevin being "the man you wish your man could be". Let me just say I have the hottest, funniest, smartest husband ever. Ok done. Back to the original topic at hand.

Since it is his BIRTH-day this naturally led me to giving thanks for my mother-in-law, the woman who birthed him. And of course since I constantly have baby on my mind, and now I at least know what it feels like to be pregnant, this led me to EXTRA grateful for my mother-in-law for putting up with what I can only imagine was a constantly rowdy and hungry fetus for nine months. Since I haven't been through labor yet I might have to wait till Trevin's next birthday to thank her for that, I'm sure I'll appreciate her doing that a lot more once I try it out myself. And then maybe the year after I'll praise her for raising Trevin as a two year old because I will then realize how extremely hard it is. But now I'm getting way ahead of myself. Let's just stick to thank you for being pregnant with Trevin for 9 months. I can only appreciate the first 7 so far but I'll be sure to thank you for the rest later.

Thanks Momma Cardon and Happy Birthday Trevin!!

No birthday suit for this baby

I think my obsession with Jimmer has been passed along to our baby. While watching the BYU game tonight she wouldn't stop wiggling around (I'm sure she was actually jumping up and down with one fist in the air) and if there was any air in there she would have been cheering too I'm sure. I used to picture her coming out of the womb wearing a ninja outfit because of the impressive martial arts she has exhibited inside my stomach. Now I'm starting to think it was all because of Jimmer. I think she might come out wearing this instead....

And if I'm wrong (which I'm sure I will be considering its physically impossible for a baby to come out wearing clothes...thats why they call being naked your birth-day suit) we will just have to make sure she is sporting the onesie after birth, maybe during the NBA draft since tragically she will never actually see Jimmer in action at BYU.....unless BYU makes it to the championships and she is so anxious she decides to comes 4 weeks early, I'm not holding my breath but I'll keep you posted on that one.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

This is ANOTHER pregnancy blog, if you had a little person growing inside of you that's all that you would think about too.

The Good:
  • I love it when she moves around and kicks. Really there is nothing like feeling your baby moving in your stomach
  • Hiccups. She gets them all the time and I think they are seriously the cutest thing ever. Even at 3 a.m. when it wakes me up, its so hard to be upset at her hiccuping.
  • Shopping....need I say more? For some reason anything miniature is so CUTE! I am obsessed with buying baby girl clothes, I love it!
  • Food....since day 1 I've constantly been told to eat more so pretty much I eat anything I want anytime, when else in your life do you get to do that?
The Bad:
  • The icky sick feeling that can strike at any moment
  • Having a hard time breathing because the baby is squishing my lungs not to mention all my other organs
  • Waking up multiples times at night to go to the bathroom/having to make multiple stops in one trip to the grocery store
  • Food....sometimes its fun to get to eat as much as you want but sometimes its definitely rough to keep up with how much food this baby needs, especially when that icky feeling sets in
The Ugly:
  • Seeing your breakfast come back up after you worked so hard to get it down, thank goodness it didn't happen very much to me
  • Anyone seen me walk lately? Yeah I don't walk anymore, I waddle, slower than a turtle
  • TRYING to button my pants
  • I haven't been there yet but I'm sure me in labor won't be a beautiful sight

Cheetos And A Stroller

The two highlights of my day.....

We went to Babies R Us and bought our stroller. Here it is. I can't wait to try it out in a couple months!

Apparently my Cheeto craving hasn't gone away either because after dinner tonight I NEEDed Cheetos. Trevin was nice enough to make a Cheeto run for me and it made my day. Cheetos, butter same thing right?

Giving In

When I first got pregnant I scoffed at cravings, maternity clothes, and waddling. Well recently I had cheeto cravings at 11:00 at night, wore my first pair of maternity pants, and have officially mastered the waddle. I guess its about time that I come to the realization I am full on prego. Here are some of the best so far...
  • I now sleep with 6 pillows (one of them is actually a body pillow so it might count double) because one or two just isn't enough
  • It is not unusual for me to eat crackers in bed at 1 am because I'm starving
  • Bending down was definitely a thing of the past
  • Trevin asked me the other day if I could see my feet....the answer is no
  • Cheeto and guacamole craving at 11:00 the other night (weird combo, I know)
  • We can't go to the movies anymore because sitting for that long is totally out of the question
  • I can definitely out eat Trevin, big time
With 10 weeks left I'm sure all of these things only get more fun and dramatic but then I think to 11 or 12 weeks from now (cross your fingers that its maybe only 8 or 9) and I get so excited to meet our little girl and even now I'm sure this is all worth it!
