Diet--Day 1

Trev and I started a diet today, not like a lets be skinny and eat nothing diet but like a lets be healthy diet. Actually we call it a "wellness program". Brock and Ashley inspired us with all their healthiness so we made up our own program. If anyone really wants the details comment and I'll tell you what we're doing. Anyways part of the program calls for no desserts 5 out of 7 days of the week....we went to Yogurtland for family home evening tonight. Day 1 and we already used one of our treat days, off to a good start. It was all Addie's idea, promise! Another part of the program calls for 30 minutes of exercise 5 out of 7 days a week...we played Just Dance for 30 minutes tonight. Haha so maybe we have gotten a little bit of a slow start BUT I'm excited to get back in gear for the summer. AND the best part is we just bought the Insanity DVDs, has anyone every done the workouts? I saw Shaun T on Dr. Oz the other day and ever since have been thinking about doing them. This morning I come in the living room to Trevin watching the infomercial for it. We seriously have a hard time believing the results you see on TV but its worth a shot I guess. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Two Weddings And A Baby Blessing

Yes the title describes our fun and tiring weekend exactly. My old roommate Katie got married on Friday in Bountiful. I wish I had brought a camera to take pictures instead of having to wait for the professional pictures but when you are thinking about your child and the babysitter and your hair and what tie your husband is wearing the camera slips your mind. Anyways what a beautiful wedding it was and what a long day it was. We left the house at 8:30 am and got home at 9:30 pm. Definitely a long day but I love weddings. I always think back to the day I got married and I always get a little giddy, what a fun day your wedding is! Anyways it was a super cute wedding mainly because they have liked each other since high school and I watched her go through the whole thing while he served a mission in Brazil and then she left on a mission hours before he got back from his mission. Katie and I wrote a lot of letters to each other and she would always tell me about the boy. I was just so happy that after all this time they are finally together.

The next day was one of my best friends, Amanda, wedding. What a beautiful day and I couldn't be happier for her! Before her husband came along she spent a lot of time with Trevin and me. We used to joke that she was our third wheel/child but I loved how much time we spent with her! But through all of it I'm so glad that she found someone that makes her so happy, they're so perfect together! I was a bridesmaid so it made for a long day. I feel like my toes are all broken now from wearing high heels for two days straight but it was all worth it.

Today Trevin's best friend Trevor blessed their little baby girl. It was so nice and what a cute little girl they have!

It has been a long weekend but I couldn't be more grateful for our friends and for their happiness!

V-day RSV Way

My parents always told me they made sacrifices for me and I always laughed and assumed my presence was the greatest gift to them. Anyways being a parent I'm starting to learn a little about this whole sacrifice thing. Trevin had made reservations for Valentines a few weeks beforehand (come to find out later was a nice restaurant up at Sundance). We were going to trade babysitting with some of our friends so that we could all have date nights. We babysat their 2 month old last Friday night for them and then they were going to babysit on Valentines for us. Well Addie started getting sick over the weekend and the day before Valentines we ended up going to the doctor to find out that Addie had RSV. Poor girl! She was going to be fine but very contagious...especially to a 2 month old. We decided to cancel our date for the next night to make sure our friends' little baby wouldn't get sick. We had Chilis takeout and watched TV. I was slightly disappointed because I love everything clique about Valentines including fancy romantic restaurants but I had a lot of blessings to count that day. Addie was healthy and my sweet husband thought of a back up plan. Here are some pictures of our little sicko on Valentines and a couple other pictures (Thanks for the Valentines shirt Grandma Robinson!)

Newly Weds No More

We bought a king bed this past week. Need I say more?

Trevin and I never bought a bed when we got married. Our first apartment came furnished with a FULL bed. Yes a full bed with enough space to either cuddle or sleep on the floor. When we moved out of that apartment into our current place we needed to get a bed but no longer had the cash flow of newly weds so my in-laws were nice enough to let us borrow a spare QUEEN bed they had. I thought it was plenty big enough for the two of us but apparently I like to sleep in the middle of the bed and when I'm pregnant I bring 6 new friends to bed...pillows that is. It was so nice of them to lend us the bed however it was old, old enough that I felt like a raft at sea every time Trevin would toss or turn in bed. SO when we got our tax return (having a baby rocks!) we vowed to buy a new bed. The day finally came and we went bed shopping. This is a plug for the place we bought our bed but seriously so awesome, its called Mattress Dealzz in American Fork, yup love it! Anyways a king bed was only a little more expensive than a queen and Trevin has dreamed of this since we got married so we got it. We are no longer those snuggle cuddle bugs that you always assume newly weds are. Well...we never were but its official, were an old married couple, we have a huge bed that allows us to never touch whatsoever during sleep. AND I get to sleep in the middle without getting shoved over anymore!

Coupon FAIL

Lately, and by lately I mean since Friday when we bought our new printer, I have been slightly obsessed with couponing. I was printing them off the internet and making stacks and piles and lists and planning my mass attack on Walmart. I even dreamed about coupons Saturday and Sunday night, blah, awful way to sleep. Anyways this morning I woke up EARLY. I had a huge list and it was the only time of day I could go so at 7 am I headed to Walmart (because they price match and I THOUGHT I could avoid going to 5 stores this way). I got to Walmart and realized I left my wallet at home. So mad!! I drove the 15 minutes home and then plowed my way through rush hour traffic to get back to the store. I had exactly one hour to get through the whole store or else Trevin (at home watching Addie) would be late for school. I planned on walking out of Walmart with 30 boxes of cereal all under $1 a box. FAIL. I walked out with no cereal. They didn't sell the size cereal that I thought was on sale. In my defense I saw it on a couponing blog, I didn't actually look at the ad. Lesson learned! I figured no big deal I'll just stop at Maceys on my way home to get the cereal. Ha, turns out the kind of cereal I had coupons for wasn't even on sale. So to make a long story short through out the day I ended up at 2 other grocery stores 1 of which I was successful in, the other had some weird store policy that wouldn't let me use my coupons. I didn't find out till after they had rung everything up. So yes my dreams and aspirations this weekend were all dashed in one day. But lots of lessons learned. The main one....couponing isn't my thing, I need a new hobby.

A Haircut and Ice Cream

Someone's hair was a little out of control, time for her first haircut!

She sat so still and didn't move a muscle on our makeshift haircutting chair.

I lied, she isn't naturally that still. We had a little help from the Baby Signing Time video on TV

Later that night we got ice cream cones from McDonalds (yes my addiction is slowly coming back) and she really really loved it, so much so that while I was sitting on the floor eating my cone and watching TV she snuck up on me and got another bite.
